IKEA Rengöra built-in dishwasher/dishwasher review

Update 02.2024: suddenly the dishwasher no longer starts the wash cycle, and emits a sound with an error code. The error code is “1 beep every second” which means it fails to load water. Figuring out the type of beep wasn’t easy, because it often made “two beeps every second,” which was then the error code that meant it wasn’t draining the water.
NB. However, reading the Electrolux manual, they say they see the LEDs flashing. In my case the discharge LED flashed 1 time per second.

Luckily the dishwasher has a 5 year warranty, and it’s still a warranty for another 6 months, but it makes me think of planned obsolescence!
To contact the technician for the repair – via the Ikea website – we were redirected to Electrolux technical assistance, as this washing machine is an Electrolux (perhaps an ESL63010).
The repair consists of replacing the water inlet hose with acqua-control (AquaStop), similar to this. The full operation lasted 30sh minutes.
PS. the hose is connected to the electricity mains, so before handling it make sure you have turned off the power. The hose has a filter, which if clogged could block the entry of water, it can be removed delicately with needle nose pliers and cleaned. Then put it back carefully as before.

If it hadn’t been under warranty the repair would have cost us 2600 nok (around 250 euros). In practice it is better to get a new one than to call the technician once it is no longer under warranty! However, the technician told us that if the water inlet hose breaks again, it is under warranty for another 5 years.
I tried to ask him if this was a common fault, but he told me that he is only a repair technician. Basically he told me that it’s a defect and the dishwasher is rubbish!
The technician was also very impolite, talking through earphones to someone all the time in Arabic/Pakistani!

We didn’t have much need for a dishwasher so, during the free design sessions with the staff, we chose the cheapest one available at Ikea. Fortunately, the sales assistant who finalized the order for us (who is the manager of the department) pointed out to us that having an open-space kitchen, therefore with communicating kitchen and living room, it was recommended to choose a higher class dishwasher, as a parameter for the cost was also the noise level, i.e. the degree of soundproofing of the model. Note that the previous consultants had not told us anything about this! I have to say it was good advice, in fact if we had chosen a noisier dishwasher it might have been a problem! But I must say that today I would choose an even quieter model, even if this doesn’t bother me, but it was something we hadn’t thought about, and we had to choose quickly.

Ours is a Rengöra model, with basic functions, in line with the previous ones we had. The only lack is a quick program lasting about an hour that allows you to use soap, because in this model the quick program only rinses with cold water and therefore WITHOUT detergent, while the first program with soap requires a couple of hours (for the usual energy saving stuff!)
The shelves are well spaced and the dishes fit in without problems, I have never had the need to move them because they hit the moving parts. The level of cleanliness is also good, although we pre-wash (rinse) the dishes before putting them in, we don’t like to put the dishes still with leftovers!
I hope I have been helpful in choosing your next dishwasher!
