I had the need to change the battery of my Dell XPS 9570 with the smaller version, to allow the installation of the second hard disk, where I have the images of the Virtual Machines (VM), backups, and “portable” installations of some programs.
I therefore relied on the site “Duracell Online“, which I had already used in the past, and which ships to Norway at no additional cost.
(In Norway a 20% tax is applied for everything imported, plus a cost of around 20 euros for customs handling, but that the larger sites manage everything – transparently for the end customer – in the final price.)
On the Duracell website I found a 56Wh 11.4 Volts battery which they said was compatible with “Dell H5H22”, their internal code “CBP3591A”, made by “2-power”, defined compatible for “Dell XPS 9550, Precision M5510”, with code “0M7R96, M7R96, RRCGW”.
Unfortunately once installed it was defined as “non original”, the led in the center flashed white-orange (1-1), and the system refused to load it (then I discovered that it is for security reasons).
“WARNING: The primary battery is not identifiable and this system will not charge this battery pack. Using an incompatible battery or a third party battery may increase the risk of fire or explosion.
Only Dell batteries should be used in Dell computers, and Dell batteries can only purchased through Dell. You can order an authentic battery at www.dell.com/batteries”
Spoiler: no, it is not possible to buy a battery directly from Dell, because they no longer sell them… perhaps due to distribution problems due to the pandemic, or – I hope not – poor policy for them…
Here is the video of the flashing led:
After searching everywhere, I couldn’t find a way to get it detected and loaded. I then contacted the “Duracell Online” support who replied after about a week, and after several emails, about one a week, they kindly sent me a new battery, because according to them it was faulty and should have worked instead. Once I received it, I found that no, it doesn’t work, it’s not really compatible.
I also found that “Duracell Online” customer support is really slow, as I assume they use an external service that only spends a few hours per “Duracell Online” site, and each response required a one week wait time (usually Monday). But I must say that they were very kind to send me the replacement battery even though it had been several months since the purchase. Unfortunately for other commitments I waited a long time to replace the battery, also because I was also waiting for the fans and the bay for the hard disk.
26.10.2022 Update: Duracell – all at their expense – made me ship the battery back with DHL, and refunded the cost. A pleasant surprise.
In the meantime, as Duracell Online was not responding, I luckily found the iFixit website (EU store) which claimed to have a compatible battery. Given the price with Duracell (and the – not a few – lost money), I contacted them in advance for verification, and they confirmed that the battery was as original.
I have tested the battery and confirm that it is recognized as original and that it is correctly charged!
Their internal code is EU328019-1, here the link:

The iFixit battery looks a lot like one of these, where you can clearly see the code “H5H20”, but I advise you to check with the seller and the reviews, even to have no problems in a possible refund.
Hope I was helpful, let me know how it went for you!
A few photos to help you replace the batteries, recognize the batteries, and check the Dell error.
